FreeRTOS is a market leading priority based pre-emptive RTOS that supports 31 architectures and receives 77,500 downloads a year.  It is professionally developed, strictly quality controlled, robust, supported, free to download, and free to use in commercial products without any requirement to expose your proprietary source code.

 

Each official port includes a pre-configured example application that demonstrates the kernel features, expedites learning, and enables 'out of the box' development.  Projects are included for ARM7, ARM9, Cortex-M0, Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M4F microcontrollers from numerous manufacturers.

 

The FreeRTOS+IO input/output abstraction layer and FreeRTOS+CLI command line interface add-on components are also available.

 

FreeRTOS+Trace

FreeRTOS+Trace is a trace tool for FreeRTOS.  With 15 graphically interconnected views, FreeRTOS+Trace provides a world leading level of insight into the run-time behaviour of your FreeRTOS application, and become an indispensable debugging and optimisation tool.

 

Tutorial Books and Training

Real Time Engineers Ltd. publish a set of FreeRTOS tutorial books.  These are concise, step by step, 'hands on' guides that describe both general multitasking concepts, and FreeRTOS specifics.   They present and explain numerous examples that are written using the FreeRTOS API.  Full source code for all the examples is provided.  Instructor led training can also be arranged.
