eCosCentric was founded in April 2002 by the eCos group within Red Hat, Inc. with the goal of furthering the technical and commercial development of eCos RTOS and RedBoot bootloader open source technologies. This remains the main focus today with eCosCentric now firmly positioned as the world's leading eCos specialist, and eCos itself garnering over 5% of the global embedded operating systems market.

eCosCentric provides software development solutions for the embedded systems market. Products include eCosPro, an industrial strength distribution of the eCos RTOS that combines comprehensive run-time functionality, board firmware, Eclipse-based IDE, and GNU compiler tools. Optional middleware for eCosPro includes USB stacks, graphics libraries, and JVMs. Services offered consist of custom engineering, porting, technical support, training, and consultancy. Taken together the products and services provide clients with a total solution for embedded systems software development with eCos.
