Company Description

Following the universal steps, China is witnessing an overall switch from analog to digital TV, as well as from standard definition to high definition TV, which symbolizes a third revolution in the industry of information. Looking back, two major revolutionary changes to information technology have given rise to some of the best known market leaders. The first revolution with the invention of computer brought up legendary magnates such as Microsoft and Intel. The second revolution being that of the mobile phones led to successes of global telecommunication corporations such as Nokia and Motorola. Facing the tide of DTV market, how do Chinese semiconductor corporations deal with the opportunity and challenge and win the battle?
Celestial was born under such a historical background. Established in September, 2004, Celestial founded its R&D centers in Beijing and Silicon Valley.

Based on its world-class technology of digital video and audio, communication, semiconductor and circuit design, Celestial provides Digital TV supporting chipset and system design solution. After years of research and development, Celestial has launched a number of highly-integrated product：first AVS HD/SD Real-time coding system in China、AVS HD/SD decoding IP and SoC、MPEG-2 HD/ SD decoding SoC for ATSC, DVB-X application, H.264/MPEG2 HD / SD IP and SoC for the DVB-S2 low cost IPTV STB application.

Since May, 2006, Celestial has entered a stage of industrialization with many of its products. In the coming two years, Celestial will keep on launching a series of chips based on Cable Return pass, ultra low power circuits, wireless transceiver, fulfilling the multiple needs from the market.

With the world-leading SoC design technology, various IPs in SoC and multi-media, multi-media AV frequency disposal, ultra-speed circuit design, low-power-consumption designs, various technics, EDA development and optimizing of DTV and STB system and software, etc., Celestial has successfully speeded up the growth of China’s own chips, making itself a major power in the strategy of the country’s layout of hi-tech development.
