Altos Design Automation is a leading provider of EDA software for characterization and validation of standard cells, I/Os and memory. Altos-DA was started in 2005 to address the cell characterization crisis caused by the increasing number and complexity of cells and the need for addtional library views at different process, voltage and temperature corners (PVTs).

Altos characterization solutions (Liberate, Liberate LV, Liberate MX and Variety) are being used worldwide by major semiconductor companies, IP providers and foundries.

Altos' key advantages are speed, ease of use and support for advanced formats such as current source models for timing, noise and power. Altos technology makes very efficient use of compute and software resources supporting both mixed multi-threading and multi-CPU environments with or without job management software. Altos tools can use a wide range of commercial SPICE and fast SPICE simulators as well as Altos own internal Spice engine. The tools deliver great gains in characterization productivity, and reduced engineering, hardware and software costs.
