CMX-FFS Flash File Systems is a suite of five products which address memory management needs for a wide variety of target storage media types used in embedded designs.

CMX-FFS-FAT is a full-featured file system for products that require FAT12/16/32 compliant media support and provides support for Long filenames, Multiple Volumes, Media Error handling, Mix of Media and Check Disk. CMX-FFS-SAFE-FAT offers that same features as CMX-FFS-FAT but adds protection from unexpected resets.

CMX-FFS-THIN is a scalable, reduced footprint file system designed for integration for designs with limited resources and includes FAT 12/16/32, Long file names, Media Error handling. All versions are provided with drivers for Compact Flash (True IDE and Memory I/O), MMC/SD/SDHC (SPI S/W or H/W) and RAM. Flash Translation Layer options are available for NAND and Atmel DataFlash.

CMX-FFS is a 100% Failsafe flash file system and includes multiple volumes, Wear-leveling, Directories, Bad Block management, ECC algorithms, Boot sector support and RAM Drive. Optional drivers are available for NOR, NAND and Atmel DataFlash. CMX-FFS-TINY is a limited resource failsafe file system available in configurations for RAM, Small Sector Byte Writeable Flash, Atmel DataFlash and ST Serial Flash for Data.

CMX-MicroNet is a TCP/IP stack specially crafted to work with virtually all processors, and features an extremely small ROM requirement and very minimal RAM requirements. The base CMX-MicroNet package includes UDP, TCP, IP, Modem, SLIP, ICMP Echo, IGMP, a Virtual File system, an intuitive Windows GUI Configuration Manager and also includes choice of PPP or Ethernet. Add-On options include: HTTP Server, DNS Client, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP Client, TFTP Client, Fragmentation, SNTP, Telnet Server, POP3, PPP, CHAP, Ethernet (ARP, BOOTP) and Wireless Ethernet. CMX-MicroNet can work with or without an RTOS and also offers portable drivers for a wide range of integrated and external Ethernet MAC controllers.

CMX-RTX is a truly preemptive, multi-tasking RTOS offering the smallest footprint, the fastest context switching times, and the lowest interrupt latency times available on the market today. RTOS functionality provided in CMX-RTX include: task management, message management, queue management, system management, event management, memory management, resource management, semaphore management and timer management.

CMX-RTX includes the RTOS Configuration Manager, an intuitive Windows GUI which simplifies RTOS configuration. The CMXKAware option provides the developer with the ability to view their programming applications running under the RTOS via In-Circuit Emulators, Simulators or ROM Monitors and to view kernel objects including tasks, mailboxes and cyclic timers.

CMX-TCPIP is a full-featured, 100% RFC compliant, TCP/IP stack which provides virtually all of the protocols, link layers, interfaces, and device drivers that are required for most networking connectivity applications. The basic CMX-TCP/IP stack provides: UDP, TCP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, DNS, ARP, SLIP, Ethernet, an RTOS porting layer, a Standard BSD socket interface and a High Performance Socket Interface. Add-On options include: DHCP, IMAP4, FTP, NAT, POP3, PPP, PPPoE, SMTP, SNMP, Telnet Server, TFTP/BOOTP, Web Client, Web Server and Wireless Ethernet. CMX-TCP/IP can work with or without an RTOS.

The CMX-USB is a suite of modular USB Host and Device software providing a "one stop" solution for designs requiring USB connectivity. All CMX-USB Host and Device stacks offer support for HID, Mass Storage, CDC Class drivers, OTG Switching and a Bootloader. CMX-USB Host software also offers support for the Printer Lite, Audio, MIDI and FTDI Class drivers.

The CMX-USB Host is the USB stack available for USB Host applications. Add On options include a Flash Bootloader, HID support for peripherals including keyboard, mouse or joystick, USB Mass Storage with optimized drivers for MMC/SD cards or other devices, CDC class for standard communications ports, Audio Class supporting a full range of audio features, MIDI support for digital musical interface control and an FTDI driver supporting FTDI USB to serial converter devices. The USB Mass Storage Class is compatible with CMX-FFS-THIN, CMX-FFS-FAT and CMX-FFS-SAFE-FAT File Systems. >/p>

The CMX-USB device stack is supplied with a HID class implementation for supporting peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse or joystick. Add-on options include: a Flash Bootloader, USB Mass Storage class with optimized drivers for accessing MMC/SD cards or other devices, a CDC class implementation supporting standard communications ports, MTP class for movie and music file transfers, the Reliable File Interface for storage devices with USB, an Embedded Pipe for interfacing a USB device with a host application and VCOM, a Virtual Comm port driver for XP and Vista supporting unlimited devices over a USB connection. The USB Mass Storage is fully compatible with CMX-FFS-THIN, CMX-FFS-FAT and CMX-FFS-SAFE-FAT File Systems.

The CMX-USB suite also offers an optional OTG (On-The-Go) Module for applications which require switching between USB host and device functionality. The OTG module is available for those processors which are equipped with an OTG controller.

eCos® is a mature open-source RTOS for deeply embedded applications. The eCosPro Developer's Kit is targeted at professional developers looking to integrate eCos within commercial products. It includes all the tools and runtime functionality necessary to develop general embedded applications.

Its main features include:

• ISO C and standard C++ libraries
• Posix and uITRON compatibility layers
• lwIP and BSD TCP/IP stacks including PPP, DHCP, HTTPD, etc
• Comprehensive file system support: RAM, ROM, JFFS2 Flash, and FAT

A range of middleware is also available to further extend the capabilities of the CosPro Developer's Kit.

eCosPro-CAN is an optional middlewaer package for hte eCosPro RTOS, providing standard Controller Area Network support for automotive and industrial applications. It combines a straightforward intuitive CAN API with support for an extensible range of external and on-chip CAN controllers. CANopen protocol stack support is also available as an additional option.

eCosPro-MMFS is an optional middleware package for the eCosPRO RTOS that provides a high performance filesystem specifically designed for streaming high volume and time critical data.

Typical markets for eCosPro-MMFS are personal video recorders (PVR), set-top boxes (STB), harddisk based video cameras, instrument recorders, personal radio recorders (PRR), video surveillance applications, multi-room video and audio, and similar high volume streaming applications.

eCosPro-MMFS provides both random access and streamed reading and writing of files. Streams support simultaneous reading and writing, and read position skipping. This latter functionality facilitates the implementatiom of PVR features such as pause, fast forward and reverse viewing of live video.

The filesystem has been designed to provide near optimal throughput for modern hard disk and disk interface implementations. The performance of the filesystem not only enables improved functionality to be delivered to the end user, but also provides the opportunity to specify lower performance and correspondingly lower cost disks, whilst still meeting application performance goals.

Suitable for deployment in sealed-box consumer designs and other high reliability applications, the filesystem features automatic self initialization, self checking, and self healing. eCosPro-MMFS is shipped as an integral part of NXP STB220 set top box development kits.

eCosPro-SecureShell is an optional middleware package for the eCosPro RTOS that provides an SSH-2 compatible Secure Shell daemon. This enables secure network access to embedded targets for configuration, control, data transfer and other purposes. The SSH protocol supports encryption to provide confidentiality and integrity of data, and uses public-key cryptography to authenticate incoming connections. Secure Shell clients are available for all mainstream host operating systems.

InfraBed is a portable RTOS that has been ported to the ARM7 architecture using the Keil tools.

eT-Kernel is a new operating system standard for high-end embedded applications. eT-Kernel is available in three profiles to fit any system size and purpose - from a compact model with high real-time performance similar to micro-kernel, to a model with memory protection and a process model like Linux.

The three profiles are:

• Compact: Multitasking kernel compliant with T-Kernel
• Standard: With T-Engine standard drivers
• Extended (+POSIX option): Memory protected and process model

eT-Kernel Multi-Core Edition supports two scheduling modes, True SMP Mode (TSM) and Single Processor Mode (SPM), providing for a blended multiprocessor RTOS.

This provides software developers both the scalability and high throughput efficiency of Symmetrical Multiprocessing (SMP), with the more deterministic and real-time characteristics of Asymmetrical Multiprocessing (AMP) - within a single, tightly-coupled multiprocessor solution, supporting POSIX 1003.1. 2003, T-Kernel/OS/SM/DS functions and T-Kernel Standard Extension APIs.

PrCONNECT/Pro is a reentrant embedded TCP/IP protocol stack supporting a wide range of Internet protocols including PPP. PrCONNECT/Pro is RFC-compliant and features a modular design which allows developers to minimize code size in the target environment.

PrCONNECT/Pro is preconfigured and ready-to-use with PrKERNELv4 and eT-Kernel. Sample serial and Ethernet drivers are included.

PrFILE2 is a file system compliant with FAT12/16/32 & VFAT, and designed to be flexible and easy to use on multiple platforms. PrFILE2 is fully integrated with PrKERNELv4 and eT-Kernel. Code pages samples and RAM disk driver are included. SD and MemoryStick drivers are available as an add-on option.

PrKERNELv4 is a fully preemptive and deterministic multitasking kernel for 32-bit RISC processors. It provides high performance with low interrupt latency, is scalable for a low footprint, and provides features required by high-end applications such as dynamic resource generation and priority inversion protection.

PrKERNELv4 complies with the µITRON 4.0 standard.

PrUSB/Device is a driver for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices and supports low speed, full speed, and high speed operation.

PrUSB/Device is integrated with PrKERNELv4 and eT-Kernel, and supports three transfer types: Control, Interrupt and Bulk transfer. Sample code is provided for a mass storage class device.

PrUSB/Host provides host controller device drivers and class drivers to enable your system to act as a USB host.

PrUSB/Host supports the OHCI, UHCI, and EHCI host controller standards. It is compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, and supports low- speed, full-speed, and high-speed devices. Sample code is included for a Human Interface Device (HID) class.

FileX is an MS-DOS compatible FAT file system for embedded devices. FileX supports all microcontrollers based on the Cortex-M1/M3 and ARM7/9 processors. FileX is used in millions of consumer devices (printers, cameras, media devices), as well as in medical and industrial applications. FileX is small in size, is provided with full source code, and is royalty-free.

NetX Duo is a full IPv4/IPv6 dual-TCP/IP stack, with applications including AutoIP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, PPP, Telnet, and a BSD-compatible socket layer. NetX supports all microcontrollers based on the Cortex-M1/M3 and ARM7/9 processors. NetX is small in size, making it ideal for embedded applications. NetX is provided in full source code form, and is royalty-free.

ThreadX is a small, fast, easy-to-use RTOS which supports all microcontrollers based on the Cortex-M1/M3 and ARM7/9 processors. ThreadX is used in over 500 million electronic products from:

• wireless - baseband, bluetooth, WiFi
• networking
• consumer devices - printers, cameras, DTV
• medical devices - defibrillators, blood analyzers
• automotive and industrial applications

ThreadX is provided with full source code, and is royalty-free. ThreadX can be used with ARM RealView, Keil, IAR, or Green Hills tools.

The Atmel ATM91SAM9 series of microcontrollers is based on the ARM926EJ-S™ processor. This reference Board Support Package for AT91SAM9 Windows Embedded CE based designs includes:
