Diverse Talented Employees

ARM is home to more than 2600 innovative, creative, and talented people from around the world.

With offices and design centers in the UK, throughout Europe, India, Taiwan, China, Japan and the USA, opportunities exist nearly everywhere for anyone with the proper skills, talents and a flair for innovation.

Our employees often come directly from centers of academia in many countries, ready to put their ideas and careers in motion at ARM. Many others have sought careers at ARM after gaining experience at other high tech enterprises as they advanced their careers. These men and women are what make ARM a success in the highly competitive world of IP and related products.

"ARM is a game changer in our industry, so it’s very exciting to work with partners to get our technologies into the latest consumer products and to reach new markets. "The main attraction to ARM for me was its leading position in processor design and its huge influence on the world of electronics, in particular smartphones and tablets. In fact, I first heard about ARM during my studies when we used the ARM instruction set for a project. I work in the hardware section of processor design, and my tasks have mostly been in the verification side of processor design. I believe the best thing about ARM is its flat hierarchy and the ease in which you can approach fellow employees, from whom I’ve learned a great deal so far. My highlight would have to be my second rotation in the Cortex-A53 project (our latest architecture CPU). I’ve learned a huge amount about microarchitecture and verification and was given the liberty to add my ideas."

"When the company I joined after university in California was acquired by ARM, I started to think about how to get a wider perspective of our now largely expanded business. The Marketing Rotation Program caught my eye; this was a program designed for engineers like myself aspiring to move into a more commercial role. I spent a year working in different marketing teams contributing to ARM’s product and ecosystem management strategy. I subsequently moved into full time roles in Cambridge in product management and licensing that had a heavy commercial focus. I am now part of the ARM India team where I have taken on a new challenge that focuses on enhancing operational efficiency in a growing organization. I feel very lucky to be working in an environment where there is a genuine interest in employee goals and aspirations along with a strong focus on personal development."

Personal Development

As a leader in our field, it is important to ensure that we keep the best at their best and we aim to provide an engaging environment for ARM employees where we can fully develop our personal and collective potential better than elsewhere.

Continual self-betterment through reflection and feedback, coaching and mentoring, training and education, is the lifeblood of personal and organizational change. Our aim is to promote the development of everyone both individually and in teams to achieve their potential, enhance their ARM adventure and enable them to contribute to the wider success of ARM.

A variety of global programs combined with individual development planning through regular feedback and development reviews enable ARM employees to map out their own career path and connect with other talented colleagues on challenging projects.

Some of the global development programs include: Global Induction Program; Graduate Development Program; ARM Leadership Program; and, Commercial Development Program. In addition, there are clear technical career paths for everyone. And who knows? Maybe you could be our next technical Fellow.

Community Outreach

TeamARM is our global team building and charitable fundraising employee network. Local employee groups run a range of TeamARM events, bringing together employees from across the business to have a positive impact on society. The wonderful thing about TeamARM is that any employee can come forward with an idea or offer to support an event. This leads to a truly diverse set of events, with the benefits going to a range of charities and community groups.

In 2012 TeamARM arranged and held a number of events across the organization from a sponsored London to Cambridge bike ride, 10k fun runs, hosting charity concerts, to arranging blood drives in India and climbing the Frost Tower in Austin. No challenge is ever too small.

TeamARM – 2012 Highlights

  • UK - TeamARM Cambridge holds a number of yearly events, such as, the London to Cambridge bike ride, charity concerts, a rough sleep for Action for Children, a number of highly successful cake sales and Movember, a month of moustache growing in aid of men's health. 2012 saw an increase in participation in, and donations to, each of these events. New in 2012 was the TeamARM Sheffield group who have had great success so far. Their family cycling day raised money for Sustrans, an organization working for sustainable travel.
  • India - Bangalore has also seen great success this year with over 40 employees running in the TCS World 10K Marathon Bangalore, through which they raised money for FLY and Sahasra Deepika, two educational charities. They also did well with their annual blood drive – in just two days an impressive 182 units of blood were collected from employees at ARM and surrounding businesses.
  • US - Our Austin employees were looking for a challenge and certainly found one in the Frost Tower Climb for the American Lung Association (ALA). Being an iconic symbol for Austin, most people know the building – but it being 31 stories tall means not many have climbed it! TeamARM managed the grueling climb and is already looking forward to next year's event.
