04.28.2010 – CAMBRIDGE, UK – ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMH)] today from the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley announced that the mbed microcontroller is the recipient of an EDN Innovation Award, which honors electronics engineers and the ground-breaking products they produce.
Originally launched at ESC Boston in September 2009, mbed is the industry's first online platform for fast, low-risk prototyping of microcontroller-based systems.
Also at ESC Silicon Valley, ARM and NXP will be showcasing a new demonstration utilizing mbed microcontrollers. Throughout the conference people can send their unique LOGO language instructions to the mbed demo via the Twitter account @mbedmicro, where the microcontroller will interpret the commands and move the Etch-A-Sketch’s knob controllers to create the specified image. Examples of LOGO language commands include:
A live video feed of the ESC Etch-A-Sketch demo can be viewed throughout exhibit hours and a video can also be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlhKqPoiYSQ.
