The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are highly prestigious and granted annually for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of Innovation, International Trade and Sustainable Development.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise granted to ARM is in the Innovation category.
Why: Innovation comes in many forms at ARM. Most significantly, in the form of semiconductor IP developed both in the UK, as well as other locations around the world, and used in billions of devices every year. The ARM business model and the ARM Partner ecosystem are also regarded by many expert sources as highly innovative. More recently, ARM’s award winning approach to social media has been recognised.
The award is in addition to the accolades from MIT Review and FastCompany that, earlier this year, recognized ARM as one of the ‘Most Innovative Companies’. ARM gained the #12 spot in FastCompany’s most innovative companies list of 2011, and was included in MIT Technology Review’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.
ARM is the world's leading semiconductor intellectual property (IP) supplier, enabling innovative digital products across multiple markets that range from mobile phones, tablets and cameras to cars, TVs, toys and smart meters. For the past 20 years, ARM’s low-power processing technology combined with an open, collaborative business model has enabled a diverse ecosystem of silicon partners. They continue to focus on differentiated end products based on ARM technology that address evolving consumer and industry trends.
In recent years, the ARM partnerships’ highly integrated, low-power designs combined with the broad support of the ARM software ecosystem has been the cornerstone in new market applications.
