ARM Celebrates 20th Anniversary by Opening New Building at Cambridge HQ and Investing £2.5m in a Bond for local Social Enterprise Incubation Center

30 November 2010

What: UK and global success story, ARM Holdings is holding a series of events around the world to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Events include the opening of ARM6, a new 30,000 sq ft building at the Cambridge HQ. The day will also include a number of charitable fundraising and community activities at offices around the world. Activities at the Cambridge headquarters include ARM employee participation in Movember. As part of ARM’s work with educational charity, STEM Team, 45 school children from five local schools will also be hosted on campus and participate in an ARM mbed robot racing competition.

The new ARM6 building will help accommodate ARM’s expanding workforce in Cambridge. This includes the thriving multimedia processing team that is driving ARM’s presence in the embedded graphics market and which recently launched the new Mali-T604 Graphics Processing Unit.

In addition, ARM is announcing a £2.5m investment in a charitable bond for Cambridge-based social enterprise, Future Business to support the development of a brand new incubation center for social and environmental businesses. The "Future Business Centre" will be a £6.5M purpose-built center on Kings Hedges Road, and offers incubation space for businesses that exist primarily to make a social and/or environmental impact. The decision to invest reflects ARM’s wish to support local community initiatives, as well as encourage entrepreneurial activities in the locality of its Cambridge headquarters where the acclaimed UK technology business has been located for nearly 20 years.

As of 4pm on Monday 29th November, Team ARM was the #2 fundraising team in the UK for Movember.
