Global Technology Conference (Santa Clara)

30 August 2011

Venue: Santa Clara Convention Center
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Driving Innovation through True Collaboration.ARM will participate as Platinum Sponsor, invited to the CEO panel and ARM Partnership panel and also booth participation.

CEO panel: “Design Enablement Challenges and Opportunities.” Warren East, CEO ARM  joins other industry luminaries in the GTC CEO Panel

Time: 1:10pm - 2:10pm

Summary:  Warren will join other industry leaders from GLOBALFOUNDRIES and the EDA community to discuss the challenges facing the design community as they advanced to smaller node designs.  Warren will provide insight on the worldwide adoption of the ARM architecture and what it means for the SoC design community.  He will share data on market trends and future application opportunities as well as highlight some of the design challenges the industry must address.

Panel: "Time For a Mainstream Revolution?"

Time: 4:30 – 5:30pm

Panelists:  Moderated by: Ed Sperling, Chip Design

  • John Heinlein, Vice President, Marketing - PIPD, ARM
  • Walter Ng, Vice President, IP Ecosystem, GLOBALFOUNDRIES
  • Vishal Kapoor – VP Marketing , SOC Realization , Cadence
  • Mutual Customer – to be named

Summary:

Mainstream technology nodes (250-55nm) represent the largest volume of wafers shipped in the industry today. The trends only point towards increasing volumes on these nodes driven by growing digitization of traditional analog & mixed signal applications as well as by new applications created by changing social and regulatory environments.  But this opportunity doesn’t come without challenges.

John Heinlein, joins a panel of industry experts discussing the challenges and how the industry needs to collaborate to address them.  Issues discussed will include:

  • Value added solutions required from the foundries, EDA community, physical IP providers and the processor architecture itself.
  • Market influences IP vendors should keep in mind
  • How global adoption impacts these requirements

Don’t miss this insightful discussion on nodes you might have thought had reached the end of the lifecycle.

Also be sure to stop by the ARM booth in Exhibit Hall “B” to meet with ARM experts and see firsthand how ARM advanced processor and physical IP is at the foundation of next generation mainstream technology node SoCs.

Booth/pods: (2): Rolling demos... More to come
